About the role
Veyro Agents quietly do hours of work for every seller who uses them: researching accounts, keeping the CRM honest and drafting follow-ups that sound like a person wrote them. As a Staff ML Engineer, you’ll define how those agents plan, act and know when to ask for help. It’s a hands-on role with broad scope — you’ll write code, set the evaluation bar and mentor a team of six.
What you’ll do
Architect the planning, tool-use and memory layers behind every Veyro Agent
Build evaluation harnesses that catch regressions before customers do
Decide when to use a large model, a small model or no model at all — and defend the trade-offs
Work with design on how agents explain their actions and hand control back to people
Mentor engineers and raise the bar for ML practice across the company
What you’ll bring
8+ years in ML or software engineering, including LLM-based systems in production
Strong Python, and comfort in at least one typed backend language
A track record of rigorous evaluation — you know that demos lie
Clear written communication; we work async between Amsterdam, New York and the rest of Europe
Bonus: experience with retrieval, structured extraction or agent frameworks
